Historical Note
The Artist lived 18 years
in Southern Oregon and the Rogue River National Forest was a favorite
place for gathering subject material for paintings. Crater Lake
National Park was high on the list of priorities. The Hemlock
trees are native there as well as the bird perched on the top of a tree.
Grizzly bears once were in that area, but have been gone for some time
-- a little "artistic license" put a grizzly and her cubs there again.
This scene prominently shows "Wizard Island" found in Crater Lake. |
